Anorexia Nervosa: What is it??

                                     ANOREXIA NERVOSA

Can you survive on one apple?

Anorexic people can !!

Hello, my intellectual readers hope all are doing great.

Eating Disorders had now become the part of our lives. It’s  ironically true some of the

humans are struggling what to eat while some are struggling what not to eat or how to

eat.

This topic came in my mind when my five year old kid said “No I will not eat more I wil become fat”. I was like shocked but now a days truth is the same

Earlier teen age youngsters and girls were considered to be more conscious  towards weight loss and calorie counts. But now most of us everyone whether old or young is conscious.

It is good to keep BMI  (Body Mass Index) in control that is the ratio of weight in kg over height in metre squared. Optimum BMI range is 18-25.

But excess of everything is bad and same is this feeling or fear of getting fat leads to compulsive form of  Anorexia .

Anorexia refers to loss of appetite it may occur due to several reasons sometime  because of some disease .

Anorexia nervosa refers to avoid eating food as the person think it will make him or her fat.

It seems to be funny but  it’s surprisingly a very serious affair it’s a psychological disorder some times person is hungry but don’t want to eat as concerned about his body weight. This in long run leads to malnutrition ,weakness ,vision loss ,dementia and numerous other disorders.

Mostly psychological interventions are used to treat it and aimed to maintain

normal body weight by taking nutritious food in apt amount.
