Hello everyone today would like to start with this beautiful quote:

"Beauty lies in the beholder’s eyes" Eyes are one of the most important sense organ that makes us capable to see the beautiful world. As most of us know and might have heard what we see that last for longer in our memories compared to what we feel by touch or smell. That is why nowadays school and learning activities include more interactive and picturesque things in the curriculum to build the memory of learners. This is the power of vision. So we can see and feel how much the vision matter.

To give somebody the ability to see the beauty of this world who can not see the things, only could touch or feel is one of the biggest charity that one can do even after his or her death by just making a will of eye donation. After death whatever be the mode of cremation finally all tissues and organs of body get putrefied or turned into ashes so what can be better than providing vision to the blind person instead of just getting decayed with the body.

Religious faith is the matter of concern for some people to oppose the eye donation but one of the widely followed Buddhism religion do support the eye donation. It is believed that Lord  Buddha  had donated his eyes.

Myths which need to be eradicated from the minds of the people of our Indian society.

  • Rebirth as blind: No one can guarantee what will happen in the next birth.
  • Disfigurement: In most of the cases only cornea is transferred by the expert eye bank team which is replaced by plastic shield and even if whole eye ball removed then also it is properly closed by the team so no disfigurement of the body do occur.
  • Age: Aged People can’t donate eyes.
  • Truth:  Minimum age is 1year.Person of any age can donate eyes.

Most of the people of any age except infected with AIDS, Hepatitis B, C, meningitis, encephalitis, rabies, septicaemia, cholera, tetanus or acute leukemia can donate eyes.

Eyes should be donated within 6-8 hrs after death that’s why prior will is necessary and to inform the eye bank immediately after death by the relatives.We are not sure whether hell or heaven exist but by eye donation can make sure that someone else will be able to see after you depart from this world what Karma is superior to it, to enlighten somebody’s life.

Now adays many of the Celebs and social workers do apply and sign the will of donating eyes. Many scientists had written the will to donate their whole body after their death for organ transplantation as well as research purpose for the betterment of society.

Eye donation is one of the greatest charity and in India donor and recipient ratio is not so encouraging , it need to be improved. We all need to be aware and should have filled the eye donation form for a great cause.

What charity can be better than if we can help somebody to see this World even in our absence. So live the life and let other see the world when we are not there to see any more.
