TULSI: An Amazing Natural Healer

Hello everyone hope all the intellectuals are doing great in  their lives. Today I am here with  the blog on our holy plant Tulsi. Tulsi is a widely grown plant also known as Holy basil which can be seen in almost  every hindu family house.  Botanical name of Tulsi is Ocimum sanctum belong to green all weather plant category.

Firstly it is religious faith associated  to its existence in our houses. According to Hindu mythology it is considered very auspicious to offer water in the morning at the time of sun rise and to lighten diya besides  it to  worship it in the morning and evening. Tulsi is manifested as goddess in our ancient Vedas. It is believed that these rituals bring peace, health and prosperity in life. 

But this not the only thing, if we talk about the scientific or medicinal value of this plant, it surpasses all others.The properties of this plant make it versatile and we can call it incredible,  how can  one plant be so efficacious in different applications.

Each part of this plant whether it be leaves, flower, seeds or roots it has therapeutic efficacy. Tulsi leaves have maximum number of medicinally active constituents having therapeutic values. It possess wide variety of medicinal constituents having following properties. Many researchers and scientists have proved these medicinal properties.

·    Anti-inflammatory: counteract inflammation means reduce swelling, redness, heat and pain which are the signs of inflammation.


·   Hypoglycemic: control glucose level in hyperglycemic people Type II (Non insulin dependent diabetic mellitus) which is also known as age dependent diabetes mellitus.

·   Anticataract properties: Cataract refers to opacification of lens that lead to loss of vision. Tulsi extract reduce cataract formation, proved by the scientists of AIIMS by topical application of herbal aye drop mixture along with turmeric.
