UNVEILED ENIGMA OF HAPPINESS
Hello every one hope all are safe and healthy. Today i am here with the topic that being humans we all wish to have in our life. Most of the people we have heard saying Don't have a long life just have happy life. Happiness is considered as the state of mind & heart when we feel positive & we feel good. But it is
the secret taht enigma i am going to unveil. What make us feel positive? Yes ! certainly the environment and
surrounding plays a major role. But most significant role is the biochemistry of body responsible for the squirt of neurochemical inside our body our own hormones, release of which make us feel
high.
These four hormones entirely change our mood now the question arises
which hormones are responsible for our happiness and how can we stimulate their
release. answer is lying below as following :
• Dopamine: is a major neurotransmitter which is released when we attain a finish line a work which seemed to be impossible is a tremendous joy whether it be adventure sports, flying in hot air balloon. When we get appreciation and award for a achievement dopamine get released. When somebody get award in awards in function we can see the happiness just flowing down on face and body language. These are the situations when our body naturally release dopamine and it is very necessary for the normal body functioning as well as psychic health.This is the reason new generation of entrepreneur and working class take breaks from their work go for holidays on mountains, bungee jumping etc. to refreshen their mind and body. Dopamine deficient secretion may lead to Parkinson syndrome .
We can elevate our mood and change the depress state of mind by having Chocolate. Chocolate intake release dopamine
as stated in book "Chocolate and health" that white chocolate stimulate
dopamine release more than dark chocolate.That is the reason behind the
suggestions have chocolate to uplift your mood instantly.
• Oxytocin hormone is released when persons we trust are around us.Its the chemical behind the mother and child bonding as well as the people who like each other. It is also responsible for the feeling of joy when like minded people are around us or whom we trust. Its best example is people feel happy and elated when they are in company of their friends whom which they enjoy most. Its secretion can be enhanced by
- Exercise , yoga and pranayams
- Meditation
- Massage therapy
- Spend time with friends
- Having pets
- Empathetic listening of others problems
- Do selfless even if a small act of charity daily.
• Serotonin also known as 5-Hydroxy tryptamine is the biochemical that uplift our mood, behaviour and energy level when we feel good inside we look good outside how much or whtaever work we do we are full of energy and give our best. Inversely if not feeling good inside we cant complete even a small task with efficiency.
As if tired mentally we can’t look good we can't feel good a small task seems to be invincible. Release of serotonin can be increased by not only drugs like hemp, marijuana having Tetra hydro cannabinol that make you feel high for the moment . But its not at all advisable as it is very addictive and hazardous for the body. Good news is with diet and food also like eggs, cheese, nuts and seeds which are high in tryptophan act as precursor of serotonin and can increase it level. That is why these are also known as brain food.
• Endorphins are biochemicals released by body to cope with pain and stress.Endorphins known as runner’s high. PET (Positron Emission Tomography) radio technique made it possible to measure the endorphin level prior and post running session. Endorphins are behind the feeling great after long run and exercise by athletes and sportsperson. We all might have read in books and heard that when you are feeling low do exercise, long run or long walks. Boosters of endorphin release are exercise, yoga ,meditation,dance, chocolates and spicy food for people who love to eat.This is the science behind happiness .
This is the biochemistry behind it now other secret isphilosophy behind this we can't control the situation or our circumstances but we can control our reaction towards it and make the situation better. We can do good Karmas whatever we do come back to us so do good deeds to be happy. What we don't want to happen to us don't do to others.Happpiness is not about money or luxury it is about how satisfied we are with what we have. Its example is Bhutan known as Land of happiness which is not a rich country but at highest ranking in happiness index because of its simple and satisfied life of people.
I can understand because of this Corona crisis we are facing never before situation whether it be loss of employment, fear of infection every thing is like what we faced never but it is only we humans which are so nicely programmed by God to get adapted to any situation.This will too pass we just have to control our body and mind. Birth and death are simple and not in our control only the transition is the troublesome and that is what only in our control .So we have to control this and lead a better life.
So have lots of good food, do exercise yoga, running what ever works for u for increasing your happiness quotient. Stay safe healthy and have a great day :)
